Head north on US 17 into Mt. Pleasant, follow the signs for Coleman Blvd then turn right onto Patriots Point Rd. Approximately .2 miles on your left will be a small parking lot for the nature trail.

Birding is good here year-round., but if observing migrating Warblers during fall is top of your priority list, this place is not to be missed.

Following signs for Patriots Point Lookout Deck to a small observation platform off the nature trail from the parking lot . Other key points to take in are Crab Bank, Pitt Street Bridge, Fort Moultrie and Breach Inlet.

Yellow-crowned Night-heron, Reddish Egret, Gull-billed Tern, Sandwich Tern, Least Tern, Black Skimmer, Painted Bunting.

Winter

Red-throated Loon, Horned Grebe, Hood Merganser, Red-breasted Merganser, Bald Eagle, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, Piping Plover, Purple Sandpiper, Saltmarsh Sparrow, Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow.
