From Mt. Pleasant take Highway 17 north, turn right onto Seewee Road (looks for Garris Landing signs). After approximately 3.4 miles turn right onto Bull Island Road.

Hours of Operation: Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 – 5:00.


There are limited facilities at this location.


An excellent place to stop if this is your first trip to the refuge (located on Highway 17). They offer trail maps and ferry schedules.

This is a recovery area for the red wolf, there is an enclosure behind the building where you can view some of the animals. Birding is good year-round.
